This edition will be a memorable journey; a magnificent evocation of the sacred through the ancient nomadic traditions of Central Asia embodied by women bards of the nomadic peoples of Kazakhstan, by the robab, the Pashto lute proud of the Afghan mountains, which later would become the sarod in India.
From Turkey, the Anatolian plateau to Rajasthan, we will cross geographical boundaries, between desert lands, to mountain peaks and fertile valleys, we will show how much traditional music is inspired by nature and how much a peoples mobility allowed the development of a real mosaic of traditions that became entangled with harmony and beauty before the East decided to imitate the West.
The principal aim of this festival is to witness the traditions of the East, Asia and Africa to the rich heritage of India.
This year, not only the fascinating heritage of Rajasthan will be present but we will also discover the exceptional technique of Anuj Mishra and his exceptional dance only after discover still the deep roots of Hindu and Dravidian southern India.
