Cast: Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Alice Eve, Emma Thompson
Director: Barry Sonnenfeld
Synopsis: In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) areback… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K`s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right.
Review: Agents J and K are back saving the Earth from aliens. Only this time there are lesser aliens. The script evolves to include more in-depth analysis of the characters. The characters are allowed to evolve. They delve into the past of K and J. Sounds intense right? NOT SO! How can anything with Will Smith and aliens be intense? Will Smith can make anything funny. “MIB3” is hilarious where it needs to be, it’s fast paced and it’s got action where required. And then we have the great chemistry between J and K ‘senior’ and as a bonus, we have the new added chemistry between J and K ‘junior’ (from way back in 1969). What can be better? Will Smith is as fresh with his comic timing with Tommy Lee Jones as he is with Josh Brolin. Both Ks young and old are a pleasure to watch. Kudos to Josh Brolin for slipping into the character so well. Special mention for Emma Thompson, as always she captures your attention, no matter how big or small the role is. To add to the comic mix, a new character named Griffin from another planet provides some sidekick like comic relief as well.

So, all is well and good at MIB organization until an ugly alien Boris the Animal (Jemaine Clement) escapes from a maximum security prison on the moon. This ugly alien seeks revenge, because agent K shot off one of his arms way back in 1969 when he was young. Now Borris plans to travel back in time and kill Agent K before that can happen. Our strapping handsome agent J now has to travel back in time to save agent K and save the earth from an invasion that dangerous Borris has planned.
Numerous alien blasting, space gun zapping, jumping off tall buildings to time travel (in Tom Cruise style might I add) and a climax that involves a last-minute attempt to crawl out to the Apollo 11 later…will agent J save his partner? Or will he get stuck in the ugly alien’s trap himself? Will the earth be under attack? Watch this 2 hour fun-fest to find out.
An added note, the climax only adds a very touching and lovable note to the series and makes the chemistry and camaraderie between J and K even more lovable.
Verdict: Like a cup of sugarfree yogurt, it is guilt-free fun. It’s got to be your weekend pick.
