Director: Abbas-Mustan

Synopsis: Charlie Masceranhas (Abhishek Bachchan) is a chartered accountant by day and a master-thief by night. On being guided by his role model, Victor Dada (Vinod Khanna), who is in jail, Charlie has to assemble a team to steal a big consignment of gold from a moving train.
Review: "Players" is the official remake of 1969′s Hollywood classic "The Italian Job", which was also remade in 1993. "Players" borrows largely from the 1993 version, remade in typical masala style of course. The result is not very entertaining, not if you’re half intelligent. Big budgets, glamorous girls, flashy songs, badly written “twists”. That’s Bollywood’s version one of the best heist movies ever made.
The cool team of players include (everything about masala entertainment has to be “cool” right?) – Ronnie (Bobby Deol), the master of illusions, is seen these days only in his brother’s films; Riya (Bipasha), who was there, more for the skin show than anything else; Spider (Neil Nitin Mukesh), the Master Hacker, who seems like the only one who at least tried to act and Naina (Sonam Kapoor), no comment.
Add some cars, songs, flashy stuff, and Jonny Lever humor to that as we watch this team try to pull off this robbery. The whole hare-brained thing seemed to be insulting the audience’s intelligence most of the time. It’s sleek, yes. It could be considered racy. It also has great production value. But it’s nowhere close to a good remake of a great movie.
Verdict: If you have not seen the Italian Job and you loved ‘Race’, then you might just be able to enjoy this.
