Devi Shri Prasad, the musical lineage learnt to play the mandolin from the maestro U Srinivas and was inspired to take up music by his father, Satya Murthy, a well-known Telugu script writer and composer & his sister, Padmini Priya Sagar, a talented singer and dancer in her own right. At school, he earned himself the nickname Ilayaraja-Junior because of his immense musical talent. He started his life of song & dance scoring music for the serial 50-50 and also has an extensive discography of over 50 films and private albums. This prolific performer has most of the biggest hit songs from Telugu movies to his credit alongwith one of last year`s biggest hit songs, ``Dhinka Chika`` from the Salman Khan starrer ``Ready``.
