Aim for Seva, an NGO that works with a few thousand rural and tribal kids, is planning a Mela as a Fund raiser on 22nd sept, 10am-8pm, at St Marks Cathedral, MG road. We want to start a tradition, fairly humble, to bring together all states of India in an inclusive setting to share and promote our cultures on a national unification theme with constant inspiration, which is not bound by region or religion. This year, we will come together on one vibrant State, Punjab, which has doyens like Baba Nanak, Baba Farid, Shah Hussain, Waris Shah, Amrita Preetam, Shiv Batalavi! We will have an engaging environment with a variety of activities, both on and off the stage including musicians playing the Dhol (Drums) to awaken your soul and transport you to a village in Punjab, DJs of repute playing all day long, folk and traditional dance groups with tremendous energy(Bhangra), and vibrant colors all around. To satisfy the Punjabi palate, there will be a variety of authentic Punjabi food from well-known local restaurants. To engage the kids, while the Moms shop till they drop with the numerous carefully selected vendors, we have pot making, face painting and other activities.Dont forget to take a family portrait on a tractor in Punjabi garb and make it a life long memory. Win Raffle prizes (including a trip to Goa and even Gold coins), or take part in a Flash mob !!! We are sure that Mela Balle Balle 2012 will be a memorable experience for kids and families. Please mark the date and do attend this exciting event on September 22nd, 2012 from 10am till 8pm. We are confident that the investment of your time will yield an experience and fond memories that will last forever. We will organize, facilitate, engage in or extend our help for all such events, ideas and initiatives that bring together All states to strenghten our sense of community, promote cultures and raise awareness of unificaiton within India.
