All about The Supersonics & Blek

BLEK (fomerly Blech) is an all original alternative trio with no idea of what their genre really is. This 3 piece act is made up of Jared Creado on the bass, Vlaroon Aiyer (Split) on the drums, and Rishi Bradoo, their guitarist and vocalist.

Their meeting was a result of idleness, flunky frustration and the failure of one of them to speak un-anglicized Hindi. Each of them brings a different style and influence to their music. Rolling Stone magazine refers to them as the ``Bombay based cousins of The Supersonics`` and the best way to experience this band is to watch them perform live while they execute their trade-marked monkey dance.

The Supersonics
The Supersonics crashed the Calcutta music scene with a high voltage performance at a crowded little bar called Someplace Else. Formed in 2006, their songwriting has already earned them a cult status. Geared with a refreshing sound and an electrifying stage presence, it would be wrong to call The Supersonics a band. They are a shiny new revolution, their sound is not pigeonholed to any one genre.

The band has a huge, loyal and increasing fan base. They write songs that are as addictive as nicotine. The band has the crowd singing along with them on practically every one of their original songs. Their debut album, Maby Baking released by HMV Saregama was a massive success and got rave reviews from the media. They have started working on the second album and the band is as excited as they were, when they formed initially.
