Fondly known as sitar vaadan ka naya chirag (the torch-bearer of the sitar world), Chirag Katti is one of the most gifted and talented musicians whose youthful exuberance and persona is expressed through his music.
Chirag has leant music under the tutelage of his father, Pt.Shashank Katti. An A grade A.I.R (All India Radio) artist, Chirag also has a diploma in music from Mumbai University. Surmani awardee, he is a scholarship holder for sitar by the Ministry of Culture (New Delhi). Chirag has performed for many television channels, at several concerts in India and abroad.
People appreciate his mature performances and the way he tackles difficult ragas with panache. Saregama H.M.V. has billed him as one of the youngest sitar maestros of India and he has many albums to his credit. Chirag also performed for Tokyo Radio Japan when he was 16.
