Harsingar – literally the adornment of Shiva – refers to a small white flower which lasts for a very short time, and is considered to be a favourite of Lord Shiva’s. Harsingar, the play, explores the dynamics of relationships between men and women, highlighting issues relating to women in the contemporary context, the Harsingar flower signifying women. The play is set in Domkach, a folk performance form by women in rural Bihar about the love tiffs between husband and wife.
