Adorned for being the first site to reveal the existence of Harappan civilization, the Archaeological Museum of Ropar holds various archaeological elements and relics of Harappan civilization, discovered from an excavated Harappan site. It also houses several evidences and traces of other civilization such as gold coins of Chandragupta, Painted Grey Ware culture of 1000 BC, Yakshi images, and Northern Black Polished Ware culture of 600 BC, etc.
The museum also features ancient elements like steatite seal, copper and bronze implements, ring stone, jewelry beads, metallic implements, pottery, wheeled toys, and shards.
The museum welcomes thousands of tourists and enthusiasts of history and archaeology to study one of the greatest excavated sites in India. The museum can be visited between 10:00 AM to 6:00 on all the days of the weeks. It is centrally located and can be accessed from all the parts of the city.
