Archaeological Site Museum, Vaishali:
The Archaelogical Site Museum in Vaishali was set up in 1971 with the intention to preserve the archaeological excavations carried out in Vaishali, and the unearthed evidence that was discovered on the site.
Constituting of four man exhibitions, the Archaeological Site Museum in Vaishali is a delight to visit to history enthusiasts everywhere. Each exhibition is dedicated to a certain category of artifacts and it also contains a headless sculpture of Buddha in Bhumisparsha mudra, in addition to displaying prized possessions of a Buddha sculpture belonging to the Pala period where he is ornamented with a beautiful crown, necklaces and other ornaments.

The first exhibition contains earthenware things, pictures of Bodhisattva human dolls, plaque of Buddha, formed blocks tiles, Naigamesha, among others. This is the primary site of the entire museum. The second exhibition has a display of figures of creatures like elephants, monkeys and other winged animals in addition to wheels, dabs, rattles, dabbers and cast coins. The third and fourth exhibitions constitute horn, bone, pointed stones and bangles alongwith Iron and copper instruments like blade, nail and chime as well as earthen products like dishes, small scale vessels, vase, respectively.
The Archaeological Site Museum is open to public from 10am to 5pm and the entry fees charged is INR 10. The museum remains closed to the public on Fridays.
