Archaeological Site Museum, Vikramshila:
The Archaeological Site Museum in Vikramshila is located in Antichak in Bhagalpur and was established in 2004, to display the antiquities and artifacts unearthed during excavations at the site. The Archaeological Site Museum in Vikramshila contains antiquities from the Pala period. Among the main attractions are the stone sculptures of Buddha and Bodhisattva, images of Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh, Kartikeya, Krishna and Sudama, among a plethora of others.
In addition to these main attractions of the Archaeological Site Museum in Vikramshila, there are also iron objects put on display.
Apart from these, the museum also contains beads of various shapes, pendants, lockets, rings, perforated pots as well as bronze images of Buddhist and Brahmanical deities.
The Archaeological Site Museum, Vikramshila’s timings are from 9 am to 5 pm and it is closed to the public on Fridays. The entry fee charged for visiting the museum is INR 5.
