Chittorgarh Fort
A symbol of Rajput chivalry, bravery and resitance, Chittorgarh Fort stands at the town of Chittor, Rajasthan. Being one of the largest fort of India, it is spread in 175 KM to the east of Udaipur city. The fortess was a major power base for Mewar rule in India for centuries.

The main attractions of Chittorgarh fort are:
The seven entry gates, namely Padan Dwaar, Ganesh Dwaar, Hanuman Dwaar, Bhairon Dwaar, Jodla Dwaar, Lakshman Dwaaer and the tallest Ram Dwaar.
The fortess also walls various palaces of the rulers of Mewar dynasty, of which notable palaces are Rana Kumbha Palace, the Fateh Prakash Palace, Rani Padmini Palace, and the Tower of Victory.
Temples in fort are also religious centers across the country. It also holds a huge complex of Jain temples.
The fort also has Jauhar place, where Rani Padmini has performed jauhar alongwith her three hundred dasis, when the fortress was attacked by Allah-uh-Din Khilji.

The winter season can prove an appropriate time to enjoy a pleasant trip to the fortas it is quite cool at that time of the year.

The fort can be explored on all days of the week except Friday, between 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

There are private and government taxis that help people commute to the fort. The closest railway station is Chittorgarh Railway Station.
