Cooch Behar Palace
Popularly known as the Victor Jubilee Palace, Cooch Behar Palace is a famous landmark of the city of Cooch Behar in West Bengal. Construsted during the reign of Maharaja Nripendra Narayan in 1887, the palace is modeled after the Buckingham Palace of London.
Majorly noted for its elegance and grandeur, it is a brick two-story, drawing its inspiration of western classical architecture. The palace is styled with arcaded verandahs and opens to a projected porch, serving as an entrance to Durbar Hall.
The main attraction of the Palace is its Renaissance inspired architecture, which adds an elegant and sophisticated style to the place. The design also adds up to the colour and varied patterns within the palace.
The palace has series of halls and rooms, some of the notable being Dressing room, Drawing Room, Bed Room, Billard Hall, Library, and Dining Hall.
The winter season is the best time to visit the Palace as it makes it quite a pleasant visit to Cooch Behar Palace. It can be at all days of the week.
