Deeg was a site of a legendary battle between the Jats and a combined Mughal and Maratha army of approximately 8,000 men. Deeg is a palace which is a little away from Bharatpur in Rajasthan and was built in 1772 for the rulers of Bharatpur State. Deeg palace has a garden inside and its design has been inspired by the Mughal Charbagh. The Deeg palace forms a quadrangle with a garden and walkways at its center. During summer, shrubs, trees decorative flowerbeds and fountains cool the place considerably.

Deeg palace has a garden inside and its design has been inspired by the Mughal Charbagh. There is a fountain spray and jets which create a monsoon-like ambience that is enhanced by a unique technique that produces thunder-like sound all around the palace.

Best time to visit Deeg Bhawan:
October to March are the best months to visit Deeg Bhawan. While summers get too hot and winters too cold, the early winter months, however, stay pleasant and hence serve the best time to visit.

Deeg Bhawan timings:
The site of Mauryan Palace is open to people all days of the week from 9 am to 5 pm. For Indians, the entrance fee is Rs. 25 and for foreign nationalities, Rs. 300.
