If you've been a part of too many indoor art workshops in the city, give this one a try!


At a village close to Mumbai, a tribal Warli artisan will be conducting an art workshop. They'll teach you their ways - passed down through generations and preserved in their way of life.


Come and experience an authentic art-immersion!

Please Note: Non-veg meals can be arranged for an extra charge of about Rs.400 payable directly to the host family. Jain food can be arranged for as well. Kindly mention the food preferences while booking.

ITINERARY

10.00 AM - Arrival at the village and traditional welcome + Breakfast

10.30 AM - Induction to the artform | Learn to prepare your canvas (terracotta)

11.30 AM -Walk through the village, interactions with the community.

12.30 PM - Prepare traditional paint with rice flour

01.00 PM - Lunch at a village house

02.00 PM - Learn the ancient art from a community artisan

04.00 PM - Tea and Snacks

04.30 PM - Enjoy the rain, go to the river, relax.

06.30 PM - Head back to Mumbai.

INCLUSIONS & EXCLUSIONS

Cost Includes


  • All material (paints, brushes, canvas etc.)
  • Changing rooms and clean western loos
  • Freshly made vegetarian meals - Lunch + Black tea and light snacks
  • Filtered drinking water
  • One village guide for a group of 5-6 people who will speak in Hindi or Marathi
  • All traditional village activities and guided walks - in and around the village.


Cost Excludes


  • Bottled drinking water. (is available for purchase at the village)
  • Non vegetarian meals.
  • English speaking translator/ guide.
  • Any personal or emergency expense and expenses for purchases you make.
  • Transport ex - Palghar station

FAQs

Ques: Is there a minimum group size required to be a part of the trip? 

Ans: No, you can travel individually as well as with a group. There is no minimum size required to book for the trip.


Ques: What about food?

Ans: Fresh, home-made food will be served.You will be assigned a household in the village which will feed you throughout your trip. Vegetarian meals are included in the cost paid. For non-veg meals extra charges applicable. We don't wish to waste any food, if you're going to reach late, do inform us in prior. 


Ques: Is an overnight stay possible?

Ans: Yes, overnight stay is possible but during the monsoon only homestays will be available. To make this into an overnight trip, contact the organiser post booking


Ques: Are there washrooms?

Ans: Yes, there are constructed western loos with jet spray and water facility.


Ques: Can I drive down?

Ans: Yes, the details for how to get there will be shared immediately after your booking.


Ques: Can travel be arranged?

Ans: For a group of more than 6 people we can assist you with transport bookings to and from Mumbai

  • Ticket once booked cannot exchanged or refunded.
  • Advanced bookings are compulsory to be a part of this event. We don't allow walk-ins.
  • Kindly note bookings for any particular date closes 24 hours prior to the date of the visit.
  • All details such as travel plans, directions, checklists etc. will be provided after a booking is confirmed.
