Kotla Firoz Shah:
Built by Firoz Shah Tughlaq in 1324 to solve the water problem in Tughlakabad, Kotla Firoz Shah is categorised under one of the oldest monuments in the capital of the country. The fort was built along the Yamuna river when the Tughlaqs decided to shift their capital from Tughlakabad to Firozabad.

Main attractions of Kotla Firoz Shah:
The main attraction of the Kotla Firoz start from the very entrance of the fort which has a huge iron gate. The boundary walls of the fort standing at the height of 15 metres, built of stone masonry are a sight to behold. The ruins inside the fort contain a mosque and a Baoli which held significant importance in the history of the monument.
Apart from this, the attraction that draws attention is the Ashokan Pillar which stands tall on the top of a pyramidal three-tiered structure. The Ashokan pillar that bears the edicts of Ashoka`s principles is 13 metres high and was brought by Feroz Shah Tughlaq from Ambala to Delhi.

In addition to this, Kotla Firoz Shah has a history of being inhabited by Jinns or Djinns who are famed for granting the wishes of the visitors. Visitors can reach the Kotla Firoz Shah fort quite easily by bus, auto, taxi or metro. The nearest metro station is Pragati Maidan.
Entry Fee for Kotla Firoz Shah:
The entry fee to Kotla Firoz Shah for Indian citizens is INR 20 while for foreign nationals, the entry fee is INR 250. The timings for the monument is 6am to 6pm.
