Mariam Tomb, Sikandra
Resting at the west of Akbar’s tomb at Sikandra in the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, is the site of the tomb of Emperor’s wife Mariam Zamani, a Rajput Princess of Amber and mother of Jahangir. Originally built as a pleasure pavilion under the rule of Sikander Lodi, the monument was later renovated as a tomb, which would house the remains of the queen.
The architecture reflects some of the features of the former building such as the trail of fourty chambers and faint traces of paintings from Lodi’s reign. While the bardari was converted into a tomb at the time of renovation in 1623 AD. The monument is red sandstone-built, with an ornamental octagonal tower.

Mariam Tomb Main Attraction
The main attraction of the tomb its unique architecture, which represents both Lodi and Mughal style of architecture. This is another icon for eternal love where the queen rests next to her husband and the great Mughal ruler Akbar.
