This is a double-storied royal pavilion of Ahom kings with unique architectural features. The central unit of the ground plan is rectangular and annexed with small structures of trapezoid ends making the entire ground plan look like an octagon. The roof of the structure is parabolic supported by rows of massive columns and semi-circular arches and it shows Islamic influence in its architectural features. A unique pleasure boat with makara ending and a trefoil arch canopy rest at the top of the structure marking the outer beauty of the celebrated edifice. It is believed that the pavilion was built by Ahom king Pramatta Singha for watching various games including bull fight, wrestling etc. by the royal elite.
