Rani Jhansi Fort is situated on a large hilltop called Bangira, in Uttar Pradesh, Northern India. The Rani Jhansi fort is located in the middle of the Jhansi city. This was commissioned in the 16th century by Raja Bir Singh Deo of the Bundela Dynasty but is popular mainly because of the bravery of Rani Lakshmibai who is better known as Jhansi ki Rani. Rani Jhansi fort is constructed in the hilly area unlike most of the forts in the southern region of India which were built on seabeds. The fort has 10 gates of access out of which some are Khanderao Gate, Datia Darwaza, Unnao Gate, Bada Gao gate, Laxmi Gate, Sagar Gate, Orchha Gate, Sainyar Gate, and Chand Gate. Rani Jhansi fort extends up to 15 acres and this colossal structure measures about 312m in length and 225m in width.

There are two major attractions that you can see in Jhansi. One is the Rani Mahal, which was the residence of Rani Laxmi Bai. And Jhansi fort, from where she fought the battle she is known for.

The Rani Jhansi fort is open to people all days from 6 am to 6 pm. For Indians, the entrance fee is Rs. 5 and for foreign nationalities, Rs. 200.
