One of the historically important cities in the world map, Jhansi is not just a town in Uttar Pradesh. The Rani Mahal, Jhansi was the residential palace of Jhansi. It is one of the royal palaces in the city of Jhansi. The former residence of the Rani of Jhansi, the Rani Mahal, Jhansi was built in the late 18th century. The palace was built by Raghu Nath-II of the Newalkar family (1769-96). This palace later formed one of the residences for Rani Lakshmibai.

Rani Lakshmi Bai mahal main attractions:
Architecturally, it is a flat-roofed, two-storeyed building having a quadrangular courtyard with a small well and one fountain on opposing sides. The main attraction of Rani Lakshmi Bai mahal is the interior of the palace. The palace consists of six halls and parallel corridors with multi-foiled arches and a number of small rooms. There are beautiful paintings inside the palace which attracts tourists.

Best time to visit Rani Lakshmi Bai mahal:
The months of October to March are the best time to visit Jhansi, thereby making winter season the best season to visit Jhansi.

The Rani Lakshmi Bai mahal is open to people throughout the week from 7 am to 5:30 pm. For Indians, the entrance fee is Rs. 25 and for foreign nationalities, Rs. 300.
