Meeting point: Chandni Chowk Metro Station, Exit Gate Number 5.
This tour explores the bustling marketplaces of the old city and traces the complex web of commerce and culture that had made the city thrive for years now. You shall start from the familiar main street of Chandni Chowk, but soon slip into by-lanes and gallis, walking through big and small, permanent and temporary bazaars of all shapes and sizes. Once on this 'other' side, you'll start looking at the old city very differently.
This walk will be conducted by Rohan Patankar from Delhi Dallying who can be reached on 8375964717 for more details.
Delhi Dallying converses and engages with the city through writing, talking, walking and design interventions. Their walks and workshops explore the complexity of everyday life in Delhi. As practicing architects and graphic designers, their work is informed by their academic learning about the city. Their content is built on the anchors of heritage and history with overlays of contemporary culture, the stories of people and their lives. They focus on experiences rather than things, on the interaction and co-evolution of built and social environments. Mostly, they like telling stories about that grey bit of magic that emerges when people, places and their histories come together.
