VGP Marine Kingdom - Chennai

Imagine an underwater paradise. With over 200 species of marine life from five aquatic zones, taking up 70,000 sq ft, and a deep learning experience is what the VGP Marine Kingdom recently unveiled to India in Chennai. 

The VGP Marine Kingdom is the latest venture in the VGP Group’s enterprises after its amusement and water park. Their avant-garde walk-through aquarium is India’s first and largest, acclaimed by many in equal measure as the famous one Sentosa Island, Singapore, and other world-class aquariums in the world. 

Despite this being their main crowd puller, there are a total of 35 exhibits—comprising large enclosures and small tanks habituated by hundreds of marine species ranging from black tip reef sharks to sting rays, biscuit starfish, alligator gar and octopuses spread across 5 ecosystems–mangroves, coastal zones, deep ocean habitats, freshwater ecosystems from rainforests, and gorges. 

The state-of-the-art fully air-conditioned facility at VGP Marine Kingdom has an underwater tunnel aquarium where you can really experience what it’s like to be at the bottom of the ocean. 

Other recreational facilities include celebrating special occasions like birthday parties, scuba diving, a multi-cuisine food court, 2 banquet halls overlooking the shark tank, a souvenir shop, and a marine biotechnology research center. Upcoming attractions include an ocean walk and a glass bottom boat experience. 

Located just adjacent to the aquarium are VGP Universal Kingdom (amusement park) and Aqua Kingdom (water park), families and corporates can experience this exotic mix of attractions, especially over a leisurely weekend.
