An acclaimed Indian singer, Altaf Raja is best known for singing Qawwali songs; he rose to fame with his debut album Tum To Thehre Pardesi (1997), which was released by the popular music label, Venus. Born in Nagpur to professional Qawwali singers, Altaf Raja started his training in music from a very early age. Whilst his debut album sold more than four million copies around the world and got him fame, he also came under the hammer for his nasal style of singing. The Singer who has been associated with the Venus music for a long time has also sung various songs in many Hindi films like Shapath (1997), Company (2002), Toonpur Ka Superhero (2010), Hunterrr (2015) and Tamasha (2015). Apart from singing, Altaf Raja has also composed music for films like Maket (2003) and Dukaan: Pila House (2004).

The famed singer has also starred in several feature films including Shapath (1997), Yamraaj (1998), Ghanchakkar (2013) and Veda B.F (2018), a Marathi drama directed by Altaf Shaikh.
