Balaji Manohar first appeared as an actor in the Hindi movie Iqbal (2005) directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. He essayed the role of Mohammed, the captain of the team, and has since then appeared in several short films. It was only in 2015, a decade later after his first screen appearance, that Balaji was next seen Aatagara - a Telugu movie directed by K.M. Chaitanya. The following year he worked as a cinematographer on the movie Harikatha Prasanga. His other releases include the movie Aake and Avane Srimannarayana (ASN).
