Dasari Narayana Rao was an Indian film director, dialogue writer, politician and actor who predominantly worked in Telugu cinema and a few Bollywood films. Dasarai who made his directorial debut with Tata Manavadu (1972), has etched his name in the Limca World Record books for directing the most number of films; in his illustrious career spanning over 45 years he has directed more than 150 films. The winner of the several laurels in his lifetime including two National Film Awards, nine state Nandi Awards, four Filmfare Awards South and a Lifetime Achievement Award has directed films across Telugu, Tamil and Kannada languages. Apart from direction, the veteran also featured as an actor in more than 50 films and produced about 30 films. The legendary artist passed away on May 30th 2017 due to his prolonged illness.
