BIOGRAPHY

Predominantly active in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films, Devayani is an Indian film actress, who has also featured in Kannada, Hindi and Bengali films. She is a recipient of The Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress for the movies Surya Vamsam and Bharathi, and also the Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize for her performance in Kaadhal Kottai. Her role as the wife of a provisional store owner in the family drama Aanandham got her nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Tamil. She then went on to play the wife of a veterinary doctor in the romantic drama film Azhagi, which won her the ITFA Best Supporting Actress Award. Among the television audiences, she is most popular for her role of Abinaya in the Sun TV serial Kolangal. Her other TV serials include Manjal Magimai, Muthaaram, and Kodi Mullai. Not only this, she also was the judge in the Vijay TV Tamil show Jodi Number One, and the Malayalam show Ugram Ujjwalam season 2. Her 2017 venture includes the Tamil detective thriller film Thupparivaalan, under the direction of Mysskin, starring Vishal in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Prasanna, Andrea Jeremiah and Simran. Her 2018 release includes Ezhumin.
