Dharani Dharan is a film director and screenwriter, who is known for his work primarily in the Tamil film industry. After quitting his IT job, Dharani began working with films and made his directorial debut in 2014 with the film Burma.

Movie Career
Dharani Dharan always dreamed of making films. He quit his IT job and began assisting on the Tamil film Kanthaswamy and the Hindi film Shortcut Romeo, both directed by Susi Ganesan. After getting a little experience in the film industry, Dharani began writing scripts for his own films. However, his off beat scripts were rejected by most producers and actors. Eventually, he got producer Sudharshan Vembutty and actors Michael Thangadurai, Reshmi Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Sampath Raj on board for his 2014 Tamil film titled Burma. The film was a crime thriller and Dharani`s efforts were commended by the critics.

In 2016, the director released his second film, Jackson Durai, a Tamil horror comedy film. The movie starred Sathyaraj, Sibiraj, and Bindu Madhavi. Jackson Durai largely received mixed reviews with a reporter from The Hindu summing it up as a well-crafted misfire. The film was also released in Telugu, titled Dora.
