Mainly seen playing supporting or comedic roles, Dinesh Lamba is a Jambuda-born actor, who primarily is seen in Hindi movies. Making his debut, Dinesh was seen in the Sushmita Sen and Sushant Singh-starrer thriller Samay: When Time Strikes, playing the role of Sub Inspector Rafique, in 2003. Following his debut, Dinesh featured in a string of movies such as Ab Tak Chhappan, Aan: Men At Work, Aitraaz, Masti, Sarkar, Vivah, and Phir Hera Pheri among many others.

Making his debut in the Tamil film industry, Dinesh was cast alongside Nandha and Sherin in Urchagam where he played the role of Nicholas. Among his other Tamil language projects are Billa 2 and Vetri Selvan. The actor also made his directorial debut in 2011 with the Gujarati movie Tuj Mari Zindagi, following which he featured in a number of Gujarati movies like Veran Thyo Re Maro Vaydo, Lion of Gujarat, which he also directed, and Shahbuddin Rathod No Hasya Varghodo. In 2017, Dinesh was seen in the Hindi socio-political drama Humein Haq Chahiye Haq Se, also featuring actors like Ankit Bharadwaj, Mukul Dev, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and Sudesh Berry. His 2019 release includes Babukaka Ni Cha.
