Lamberto Maggiorani was an Italian actor. He started off his career as a factory worker and took up acting as a hobby. He is best remembered for his debut film The Bicycle Thieves (1948). The film was a rave at the box office and made Lamberto a star overnight. He went on to act in films like A Tale of Five Women (1951), Anna (1951), Vacation with a Gangster (1954) and The Last Judgement (1961). Lamberto was last seen in the film Ostia (1970) before his sad demise on April 22nd, 1983. His film Bicycle Thieves is now going to be re-released in theaters.
