American actress Lois Arlene Smith`s showbiz career spans over a staggering six decades, in the course of which she has appeared in over 50 feature films, several tv shows and plays. A veteran of American theatre, she has received multiple Tony Award nominations, besides winning Obie Awards and Drama Desk Awards. Despite Smith`s vast body of work, she is perhaps best known to the contemporary audience as Dr. Iris Hineman from Steven Spielberg`s Minority Report (2002) or as Mrs. Glenn from the neo-noir action comedy The Nice Guys (2016).

Route 66 (1960-1964), the crime drama series The Equalizer (1985-1989), the dark fantasy True Blood (2008-2014) and the period drama The Americans (2013) are some of Smith`s notable television credits. Her performance The Americans earned the actress a Critics Choice Television Award nomination for Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series in 2013. Other significant feature film credits include East of Eden (1955), Four Friends (1981), Dead Man Walking (1995), Marjorie Prime (2017) and Lady Bird (2017). For her outstanding contributions to the field of performing arts, she was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame in 2007.
