Madhu Ambat is an Indian cinematographer, born on March 6, 1949 in Ernakulam, Kerala, India. He is considered as the most experienced cinematographer in the Indian film industry. He has worked in numerous films as a cinematographer such as, Amaram, Anjali, Makaramanju, Namma Gramam and Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam. He has won many awards including three times National Film Award for Best Cinematography in 1984 for ‘Adi Sankaracharya’, in 2006 for Tamil film ‘Sringaram’ and in 2010 for Malayalam film ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’.
