German actor Mathieu Carriere studied philosophy in Paris while pursuing his acting dream. Making his debut as a child actor at the age of 13 with the 1964 film Tonio Kroger, Carriere played the lead role in the 1966 movie Young Torless. Mainly appearing in German movies, Carriere was seen in the Bollywood drama The Fakir of Venice, which released after a ten-year-delay in 2019 and featured Farhan Akhtar and Annu Kapoor in the lead.
