Having been associated with over 100 movies, Pratap K. Pothen is an Indian movie actor and director, who is a part of the Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi movies. He debuted as an actor in 1979 with the Tamil film Azhiyadha Kolangal, while he made his directorial debut in 1985 with the Tamil romance Meendum Oru Kaathal Kathai, which went on to win the Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of a Director. Winning Filmfare Awards for Best Actor, Pratap was seen in the Malayalam movies Thakara, Chamaram, while he received the SIIMA Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for his work in the movie 22 Female Kottayam. With his directorial debut receiving immense acclaim, Pratap has directed Daisy, Chaitanya, and Lucky Man. Subsequently, he has acted in movies like Ayalum Njanum Thammil, Alex Pandian, Bangalore Days, Munnariyippu, Remo, and Green Apple.
