Making his debut in 2013 as an assistant editor, Rohit Mhatre worked on Tigmanshu Dhulia’s 2013 action crime drama Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns. He was then associated with a number of movies such as Monsoon Shootout, Bullett Raja, Children of War, and Guddu Rangeela as an assistant editor. In 2015, he co-produced the Marathi romance Slamback and also made his debut as an editor. Next, he worked as the sole editor of the 2017 drama Phullu, which highlights the inconvenience caused to women from rural areas due to menstruation.
