Born into a musically-oriented family, musician Sameer Uddin acquired a taste for music at an early age. His father is a theatre artist and his mother is a classical performer. Exposed to melodies as a child, Sameer began playing tabla after his uncle realized his fixation to music. During his college days, Sameer began playing guitar and later went on to play bass for the heavy metal band Every Mother`s Nightmare. Subsequently, Sameer began composing for TV commercials. His first project was a Duracell Ad. However, his first major project was the Honda City commercial which was under Kaveri Productions.
Sameer`s big Bollywood break came with the 2005 movie Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena wherein he was signed as a background score composer. Following which he went on to compose background score for movies such as Pyaar Ke Side Effects (2006), Ugly Aur Pagli (2008), Kapoor & Sons (2016) and Phillauri (2017). He has composed music for movies like Yahaan (2005) and 404: Error Not Found (2011). His other releases include Fukrey Returns, Kaalakaandi and Junglee.
