Born and brought up in Pune, a recipient of several National Awards for her contribution to the field of dance, Sharvari Jamenis is an Indian actor who primarily works in the Marathi film and TV industries. In 1999, she was given the Nargis Dutt Puraskar by the Pune Municipal Corporation. She has also received the P.L. Smruti "Tarunai Puraskar" in 2007, and the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar in 2008 awarded by Sangeet Natak Akademi.

Having artistic qualities as a child, Sharvari began taking lessons in Kathak at the Nrityabharati Kathak Academy in Pune, at the age of nine. She has also been trained by Guru Pandita Rohini Bhate, an internationally acclaimed guru, and dancer. She completed her schooling from the Garware School, Pune and was an active participant in Sanskrit, Marathi, and English speaking competitions during her school days. Sharvari was later enrolled at the SNDT College, Pune, wherein she participated in several theatre competitions. This paved way for her debut in the Marathi film industry, after director Chandrakant Kulkarni spotted her during one of the competitions. He went on to cast her in his 1999 thriller movie Bindhast, which also starred Reema Lagoo, Gautami Kapoor, Meenal Pendse, Mona Ambegaonkar, Reshma Polekar, Nirmiti Sawant, and Seema Biswas. Known for it`s all woman cast, the movie went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of Marathi cinema and won several Maharashtra State Film Awards. Sharvari also won the Filmfare Best Actress Award and the Videocon Screen Best Actress Award for her role in Bindhast. She has since then appeared in movies such as Savarkhed: Ek Gaav (2005), Paheli (2005), Kay Dyache Bola (2005), and Deool Band (2015).

A passionate dancer that she is, Sharvari also holds a Master`s Degree in Kathak from the Pune University, where she stood first in 1995-1996. She has also helmed several dance shows worldwide and has choreographed for films such as Maaybaap and Paash. She also works as an Aerobics instructor in Pune. Her 2017 release includes the movie Boyz directed by Vishal Sakharam Devrukhkar.
