In an illustrious acting career spanning over four decades, veteran Marathi actress Usha Naik has appeared in over a hundred films. She started out in the 1970s as a background dancer, and subsequently segued into supporting and character roles through a number of memorable performances. The crime drama Samna (1974), Kalavantin (1978), Gaav Tase Changle Pun Veshila Tangale (1985) and the Kamal Haasan starrer Dekha Pyar Tumhara (1985) were some of Usha's notable acting credits in the initial phase of her career.

In 2014, the actress starred in the acclaimed Marathi drama film Ek Hazarachi Note, which won her several accolades, including a special mention at the Filmfare Awards and Best Actress honour at the Pune International Film Festival that year. Other significant film credits in recent times include Carry on Maratha (2015), Half Ticket (2016), Lapachhapi (2017), the Bollywood crime drama Daddy (2017) and Mahasatta 2035 (2018).
