An Indian director, Vikram Kumar is known for his work in Tamil, Telugu and Bollywood films. After completing his graduation from the Madras Christian College, Chennai in 1997, Vikram started his career in the film industry as an assistant director to the acclaimed director, Priyadarshan in the Malayalam film Chandralekha. He also assisted Priyadarshan in Hera Pheri and Doli Saja Ke Rakhna.
After the brief stint of working as an assistant director, Vikram Kumar, he made his debut as an independent director with the non-feature film, Silent Scream (1998). The film won him huge success and also got him his maiden National Film Award for Best Educational/Motivational/Instructional Film. Vikram got his major breakthrough in the mainstream commercial cinema when he directed his maiden venture Ishtam (2001), a Telugu film. He subsequently directed by films like Alai (2003), 13B (2009), Ishq (2012), 24 (2016) and Hello! (2017), an action romance film starring Akhil Akkineni and Kalyani Priyadarshan. He is associated with the 2018 Tamil comedy-drama-romance Mr. Chandramouli directed by Thiru. His 2019 release includes Gang Leader.
