Guddu Ki Gun: Film Review – Locked and Loaded

Verdict: Goofy moments, witty one-liners and lots of innuendo!

The story of a character messing up and facing seemingly irreversible consequences for his actions isn’t a unique one. However, very few of these consequences have been as unique as Guddu and his golden gun!

Guddu Ki Gun follows a ladies’ man named Guddu (Kunal Khemu), who is known for his womanizing ways. When he breaks the wrong woman’s heart, Guddu’s manhood must pay the price. The only cure for his golden gun is finding his one true love and staying faithful to her. But the journey from the Kama Sutra to the mangalsutra proves difficult, especially with all the people who want a piece of Guddu’s gun. Fortunately, he has his trusted sidekick, Laddu (Sumeet Vyas), to help him out!

To put it simply, Guddi Ki Gun is a fun film. The slapstick comedy doesn’t take itself too seriously, and serves its main purpose by entertaining viewers. The climax, which will show you a whole new side of Mughal-E-Azam, is especially hilarious. No matter how dignified you are, the scene is bound to induce side-splitting laughter!

The rest of the film is also packed with hilarious one-liners- some witty, others silly! These are effortlessly delivered by the cast, especially Kunal Khemu and Sumeet Vyas. The actors play off each other, making them the perfect choice to play best friends. Though their rapport is worth noting, both actors also give strong individual performances. Sumeet manages to shine despite playing a supporting character.

The rest of the supporting actors also shine in their respective parts. Aparna Sharma and Payel Sarkar, in particular, are delightful to watch on screen. However, we do wish they had more screen time.

Guddu Ki Gun is by no means a cinematic masterpiece. It is, however, a fun film that makes the most of its amazing dialogues and the actors’ comic timings. Though there are a few scenes that get a little preachy, they are few and far in between, and it’s easy to ignore these minor flaws in an otherwise entertaining one-time watch.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:

Guddu Ki Gun is the quintessential leave-your-brains-at-home comedy. It is a lighthearted film that features some very quotable one-liners. If you’re looking for a hearty laugh, don’t miss this one!
