With Solo Brathuku So Better doing so well, Tollywood producers are now geared up to release their movies in theatres. The much awaited Sankranti season is nearing and already 4 movies have announced the release dates of which one is Ram Pothineni’s RED.
Featuring Ram Pothineni in dual role, RED is a faithful remake of Tamil superhit movie Thadam. While the original was directed by Magizh Thirumeni, RED is directed by Kishore Thirumala. This is the 3rd movie in the combination of Ram and Kishore Thirumala after Nenu Sailaja and Vunnadhi Okkate Zindagi.
Ram plays the roles of Sidharth and Aditya living in the same city. One of them attacks a man leaving him dead, following which the cops arrest one of the lookalikes. Just when they seem the case is closed; the cops capture the other lookalike. Who among the two is the actual murderer forms the premise of RED.

Nivetha Pethuraj plays the role of a cop named Yamini while Malvika Sharma will be seen as Deepika and Amritha Aiyer as Anandi. The rest of the cast include Sampath Raj, Vennela Kishore, Nassar, Posani Krishna Murali, Satya, Sonia Agarwal, Pavitra Lokesh, Narra Srinivas, Charandeep and Hebah Patel in an item number, Dinchak”.

Bankrolled by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, the music and background score is composed by Mani Sharma and cinematography is handled by Sameer Reddy. Action is choreographed by Peter Hein and AS Prakash handled the art department while Junaid Siddiqui is the editor.

While the film was supposed to release on April 9th 2020, the makers have waited for the theatres to open and are finally releasing it on Jan 14th 2021 as Sankranthi special.
