To make up for a year that was 2020, Bollywood is going to be giving us some insanely massive blockbuster action movies that we need and deserve this year. While these movies have a vibe and audience of their own, we will say that given the year we’ve had watching these movies that exist to purely entertain may not be all that bad. So let’s take a look at some of the most highly-awaited movies of this year
Sooryavanshi
This extremely highly-awaited film was all set to release in 2020 but now we have to wait until March (hopefully) for Sooryavanshi to finally release on the big screen. This film will be the fourth installment of the Rohit Shetty cop universe and stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role. From what we know, Akshay Kumar will be playing Veer Sooryavanshi, the chief of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad and his team will join forces with Inspector Sangram “Simmba” Bhalerao (Ranveer Singh) and SCP Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn) to stop a terrorist attack in Mumbai.
Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai
Directed by Prabhu Deva, this upcoming Salman Khan film is said to be a remake of the South Korean film Veteran. While not much is known about the film yet, we do know that will also star Megha Akash, Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, and Jakie Shroff.
Heropanti 2
This film is a sequel to the 2014 Heropanti. We will be seeing Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon reprise their roles in Heropanti 2 which will be directed by Ahmed Khan. From what we know, this film will revolve around a guy possible like a vigilante who helps people at night.
Pathan
All eyes are going to be on this Siddharth Anand directorial which will be Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film after his disappointing film Zero. This film will also be SRK’s and Deepika’s fourth film together. From what we know this story will be set in a dystopian world in the Middle East. We will see how grand houses that once housed the wealthy are now homes of the most dangerous criminals. In this world, an undercover cop will try and take down a drug lord who killed his own father.
Bell Bottom
Starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, this spy-thriller film will also star Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, and Huma Qureshi in prominent roles. Bell Bottom is based on true events that took place in the 1980s and revolve around some unforgettable heroes of that era. Currently, Bell Bottom is scheduled to release on April 2, 2021.
Satyameva Jayate 2
This vigilante action film is a sequel to the 2018 film. Directed by Milap Zaveri, this film will see John Abraham reprise his role as Virendra Rathod. We will see Divya Khosla Kumar playing the leading lady in this film. Currently, Satyameva Jayate 2 is scheduled to release on the big screen on 12 May 2021.
