Every Sankranti is a treat for cinephiles where they get to see multiple movies releasing in a span of one week. In the midst of lockdown, there was a doubt in everyone’s mind of how the audience would embrace movies after the theatres open. The reception given to Solo Brathuke So Better this Christmas was an indicator that viewers are interested to watch the movies in cinema halls.
Like any other Sankranti season, this year we have 4 movies lined up in a span of 3 days. We may hear a few more announcements in the coming days. The movies that are confirmed to screen in cinema halls are Ravi Teja’s Krack, Vijay’s Master, Ram Pothineni’s RED and Bellamkonda Suresh’s Alludu Adhurs.
Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja starrer Krack is set to make its presence felt
The much-awaited Sankranti season will start with Mass Maharaj Raviteja’s Krack and the recently released theatrical trailer has hit the right chord. Touted to be a crime thriller with mass commercial elements, we get to see Raviteja in the role of a powerful police officer and is directed by Gopichand Malineni. They come together for the third time after Don Seenu and Balupu. Interestingly the movie was preponed to January 9th from January 14th, to avoid a clash with Ram’s RED.
Ram Pothineni’s double role act in RED sounds exciting
On Jan 14th, Ram’s RED will hit the screens. This is probably for the first time that we get to see Ram in a dual role. While one character seems to have a class touch, the other character is full of mass, in the lines of iSmart Shankar. RED is a remake of the Tamil superhit movie Thadam. Co-incidentally both Krack and RED are crime thriller’s and it will be a win-win situation this Sankranti season if they can get the viewers engaged.
One of the biggest films of the year already – Master releases in Tamil, Telugu and other languages
Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay’s Master is a dubbed version of the Tamil movie with the same title. The movie is carrying enormous buzz as it will be the first biggie to release in Tamil post the lockdown. Also starring Vijay Sethupathi in a prominent role, Master will release on January 13th in all major languages worldwide. The movie also features Malavika Mohanan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, Nassar, Ramya, Dheena, and others. Directed by Khaidhi fame Lokesh Kanagaraj, the music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and cinematography is handled by Sathyan Sooryan.
Bellamkonda Suresh’s Alludu Adhurs is up next
The next day, we have Bellamkonda Suresh’s Alludu Adhurs releasing in cinemas. While his debut movie is titled Alludu Seenu, he carries the Alludu tag for the second time with this movie. We will have to wait until Sankranti to see if the Alludu tag will prove lucky for him again. Kandireega fame Santosh Srinivas Rowthu has directed this movie that is bankrolled by Gorrela Subrahmanyam. Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj play prominent roles in this movie while Nabha Natesh and Anu Emanuel are the leading ladies.
Nithiin and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Check teaser is unveiled and looks impressive. Directed by Chandrasekhar Yeleti, the movie is expected to release soon.
We understand it’s important to understand the safety measures by the cinemas and we encourage you to go through the regulations right here.
