Divyendu Sharma Shines In This Zee5 And Alt Balaji Revenge Drama

Starring Divyendu Sharma, who was catapulted to fame by Mirzapur, Zee5’s latest offering Bicchoo Ka Khel is a crime drama revolving around a young student seeking revenge after his father is falsely implicated for a crime he didn’t commit.

The show starts off with a bang…

Young Akhil (Divyendu Sharma) finds his father caught in the middle of a crime scene. The father is put behind bars where he eventually meets his death, and Akhil takes it upon himself to exact revenge. In the process, he ends up committing a murder.

… only to fizzle out eventually

The first five episodes are pacy and engrossing. But afterwards, you wish the show slows down. What worked in its favour in the first half, now goes against it. Too much occurs in too short a span of time, leaving you bewildered. It doesn’t help that the show often appears tackily produced.

There’s a plus side however

While the show careens in the second half, props are in order for a clever screenplay by Ghalib Asad Bhopali and Gibran Noorani. The characters are nuanced and the shows is never dull.

Divyendu Sharma as Akhil will win your heart. Anshul Chauhan, who plays Akhil’s love interest Rashmi and Syed Zeeshan Qadri as the police officer deliver strong performances.

WATCH OR NOT
Despite a rushed second half Bicchoo Ka Khel, is a fun watch that never lets your attention flag.
