This TVF original brings back season one’s college buddies: Karan, Trippy, Naira, Deepika and Bagga. The gang is reunited after the holidays. While Naira and Bagga are still dating and Karan and Deepika are still unsure of where they’re at in their relationship, Trippy and Raveena have broken up. Trippy now chases other girls. Apart from having fun, getting into fights and flirting, there’s not much the group does.
A reunion and new romance
The show opens with Naira (Apoorva Arora) contemplating telling Bagga (Gagan Arora) a secret. Karan (Keshav Sadhna) wonders what to do about his relationship with the hot-headed Deepika (Shreya Mehta). Along comes Trippy (Manjot Singh) with a girl named Isha, who he calls Hippy, because of the clothes she wears and her penchant for philosophy. She is his latest conquest. His ex Raveena, meanwhile, has moved to another place to study. Hippy invites the gang out for the night, taking them to a club filled with older men and women, where a shayar provides entertainment. A couple of drinks and some weed brownies later, plenty of secrets begin to come out of the bag. The five episodes are filled with Trippy’s romantic escapades, Naira and Bagga’s cheesy moments and Deepika and Karan’s fights, much like season one. The show deals with crucial elements of the college experience, such as the formation of friendships and sexual discovery. The major conflict this season is Naira’s sudden announcement that she’s leaving the country for further studies.
This college drama scores low
With just five episodes set in a college, revolving around one group of friends and their antics, the show doesn’t offer much. It’s pretty similar to the first season and the comedic moments are few and far between. With time, you can easily predict what’s going to happen next and there are things that the characters do that seem out of place. For instance, Naira fighting with Bagga for forgetting Valentine’s Day is at odds with her personality. Save for Apoorva Arora and Gagan Arora, the performances are forgettable.
WATCH OR NOT
The second season is really just more of the first. Watch it only if you’re really curious about Karan, Trippy, Naira, Deepika and Bagga.
