We Found Out Why Everyone Is Raving About Adarsh Gourav From ‘The White Tiger’

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Rajkummar Rao’s new film The White Tiger premiered on Netflix a few days ago. Based on a book by the same name, this film has been the talk of the town ever since it came out. While some people have loved it endlessly, others have strong views about it not representing the book well. We will say one thing though, no matter what anyone thinks of the film, one thing we can all agree on is that Adarsh Gourav, the newcomer who plays Balram in the film did an incredible job.

So who is he and why is everyone raving about him.

If you haven’t seen the film yet, Gourav Adarsh plays the main character of Balram Halwai who comes from a village and leads a very oppressed life until he makes his way out by first becoming a driver of a rich family and then transitioning into becoming an entrepreneur.

Gourav Adarsh was born in Jamshedpur but raised in Mumbai. As a child, he trained in classical music and participated in various local singing competitions.

He has been a part of a few movies and some of his memorable roles include playing the younger version of Shah Rukh Khan in My Name Is Khan. He has also been a part of a few other films like Rukh, Mom, and Leila.

In such a short span of time, Adarsh Gourav has garnered an immense amount of respect and fame for his brilliant performance. One such person who has been mesmerized by the young actor is Divine. The rapper’s song Jungle Mantra which he performed with Vince Staples and Pusha T is his latest track in the film and while talking about the song and the film Divine said, “Gaurav is incredible, looking forward to what he’s going to do next. Pusha T is one of my favourite rappers in the world, and I’m honoured to be on the same song as him. Loved the performances of everyone in the film and the direction as well. Also, a major shout out to Ramin, who directed this film, gave me the freedom to do the song I wanted to do.”

Turns out Adarsh is also a big fan of Divine and had some amazing things to say about the Indian rapper. “Divine’s songs have always hit the right chords. I have always enjoyed his music and am a huge fan of his. I was ecstatic when I came to know that he’ll be part of The White Tiger soundtrack. I’ve been listening to ‘Jungle Mantra’ on loop!”
