British band Gorillaz is performing its latest album Song Machine, a combination of singles and music videos, on tour, the group’s first live performance in two years. Stream the performance on Saturday, December 12 at 4.30 pm. Song Machine Season One: Strange Timez was released on October 23.
The Gorillaz are the brainchild of musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett. Created in 1998, the band is made up of four animated members – 2-D (lead vocalist and keyboardist), Murdoc Niccals (bassist), Noodle (lead guitarist and backup vocalist) and Russell Hobbs (drummer and percussionist). The characters thrive in a fictional universe that features in their music videos, interviews and the aforementioned project, Song Machine.
Hewlett’s trademark comic animations will be displayed in tandem with a live performance by Albarn, who also doubles up as 2-D’s singing voice.
