Ravi Dubey, Nia Sharma and Achint Kaur are hitting our screens once again with a brand new season of Zee5’s Jamai 2.0.
The Zee5 show is a sequel to the hit television show Jamai Raja that ran on Zee TV from 2014 to 2017. Jamai 2.0, however, is not a continuation of the former’s story. Instead it weaves a new plot around the three main characters.
The first season saw Achint Kaur as Durga Devi Patel aka DD, a successful businesswoman who runs a chain of nightclubs in Pondicherry. Roshni (Nia Sharma) is DD’s daughter, and the two share a troubled relationship. Enter Siddharth Sharma (Ravi Dubey), a stand-up comedian who works at one of DD’s clubs.
Sid and Roshni meet, and immediate sparks fly between them. The two embark on a roller-coaster relationship comprising petty fights and breakups, only to find their way back to each other. In the season’s final episode we see DD, who hasn’t been thrilled to see Sid and Roshni together, finally accepting their relationship and inviting Sid to live with them.
However, there is more to the story than meets the eye. It is revealed that Sid harbours a grudge against DD and is seeking revenge from her. Whether his feelings for Roshni are genuine or is he just using her as a pawn to get to DD, we do not know.
The trailer of season two, which was released by Zee5 earlier this month, gives us a glimpse of some steamy scenes between Ravi Dubey and Nia Sharma. The new season promises more suspense, drama and thrill as Sid and DD lock horns. Sid and Nia’s relationship will also be put to test. Apart from the three main characters, the season will also star Sudhanshu Pandey, Vin Rana and Priya Banerjee in key roles.
Season two of Jamai 2.0 will stream from Friday, February 26 on Zee5.
