The first six episodes of WandaVision didn’t have post-credits scenes, but episodes seven and eight have two in a row. The post-credits scene in WandaVision episode seven was tied to the events of the episode, the one in episode eight gives us a hint at future events.
In the scene, Hayward signals an officer to power the “thing” up. The “thing” he refers to, as it turns out, is Vision (Paul Bettany). We finally see what really happened to Vision’s body. In episode five, Hayward claimed that Wanda took it from their headquarters. He makes Wanda out to be the enemy. It turns out, Hayward has been lying, even editing security footage to corroborate his story. Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) was the first to find him out when she cracked his systems and found that Hayward had been tracking Vision inside the Hex.
Hayward has been violating Vision’s body, taking him apart and putting him back together a million times, trying to bring him back online. Hayward notes in episode eight that Vision is a three billion dollar asset and a sentient weapon. Clearly, the man doesn’t see Vision as a person, but merely a “thing” to use for their purposes.
This new Vision brings plenty of questions to light about the series moving forward. Is there any of Vision’s past self left in the this reconstructed weapon? Will Wanda have to kill Vision again?
