Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige isn’t ruling out the possibility of reviving Netflix’s canceled Marvel shows including Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones. Ever since Daredevil returned to Disney, fans of the Netflix series have been asking for it to be revived on Disney+.
The Netflix Marvel shows consist of Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, The Defenders and The Punisher in 2015 as an extension of the MCU on streaming platforms. While the series was technically part of the same world as The Avengers, the Netflix shows were able to stretch beyond the more PG MCU and delve into more mature subject matter. With Disney’s acquisition of Marvel and the introduction of Disney+, however, Netflix can no longer produce Marvel content. This lead to the cancellation of some truly great shows.
While Feige doesn’t promise more Daredevil or Punisher, he definitely keeps the door open. Fan campaigns like the ongoing one for a Daredevil revival have been successful in the past for shows like The Expanse. Either way it’s clear that Feige has heard the fans, especially considering Daredevil‘s version of Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) has been cast in the new Spider-Man movie.
