Neeti Palta has always expressed her creativity uniquely. The former Senior Creative Director at advertising agency J Walter Thompson (JWT) gave up her lucrative job to voice muppets on Galli Galli Sim Sim, the Hindi adaptation of Sesame Street that aired on DD National in 2006. She then decided to enter, and slay, the then-nascent comedy scene in India which was primarily male-dominated.
Today, this Dilli ki Kudi is one of the most renowned names in Indian comedy. Palta’s comedy is irreverent, relatable and offers a refreshing female perspective. And for Palta, no topic is taboo – whether she’s pointing out the hypocrisy of Indian culture and morals in her successful Amazon Prime show Almost Sanskari or discussing Indians’ love affair with big, fat weddings or proving that yes, women can also be funny, Palta’s observations are peppered with her trademark wit.
